Reinhard Schuler
Reinhard Schuler is the founder of Alpine Naturprodukte GmbH and a pioneer of the alpine product world at Kaufhaus der Berge. He grew up on a small mountain farm in the Pitztal valley and was introduced to the traditional knowledge of plants passed down through generations from an early age. As a child, he collected Iceland moss, rose hips, arnica and St. John’s wort for his grandparents, among other plants. These experiences later became the foundation of his work with alpine plants and skincare products.
In 1997, together with Christian Schuler and Martin Gundolf, he founded the Plattenrain-Alm farmers’ cooperative. This was followed by the Association for the Promotion and Preservation of Alpine Natural Products in 1998 and Alpine Naturprodukte GmbH in 2004. Together with partners from the hotel industry, beekeeping, product development and cosmetics, he developed the first alpine skincare products and established the Alpienne brand.
Over the years, Reinhard Schuler has worked with experts in microbiology, biochemistry, pharmacy, dermatology and cosmetics. Through these collaborations, he has developed extensive practical knowledge of alpine ingredients, formulation development, product quality and the translation of traditional knowledge into modern skincare products. Today, he continues to support the company as its founder and mentor.
